Biology Within Your Reach

is a project that connects high school students with cutting-edge topics in contemporary science and with Slovak biologists who are actively conducting research in Slovakia and abroad.

Biology is one of the fastest-growing scientific fields, with new discoveries that have a direct impact on our lives today and in the near future. From tackling climate change and addressing the growing resistance of pathogens to commonly used drugs, to exploring the possibilities of genetic engineering and artificial intelligence - new knowledge is emerging so quickly that it often cannot be included in school curricula and textbooks in time.

We develop a collection of educational materials that bring the latest research by Slovak scientists directly into the classroom. The resources are designed to spark curiosity, encourage active learning, and help students build essential skills for further studies in the natural sciences.

Each set includes teacher’s notes and is freely available in two tailored versions:

for students in years 5–9 of grammar school (ages 11–15)
for high school students (ages 15–19)
